Fleet Management and Surveillance Solutions for the Student Transportation and Public Transit Industries

Active Passenger and Pedestrian Risk Reduction – See New Safe Fleet solutions at the CUTA Annual Conference and Transit Show

We are showcasing transit bus perimeter solutions aimed at helping to drive down the number of those injured and killed in bus strikes each year. Visit us in booth 1515 this November to learn how we can help you create a safer transit bus perimeter.

We’re excited to be attending this year’s CUTA Annual Conference and Transit Show. It’s always great to catch up with members of the industry, existing customers and hopefully some future customers as well. This year though, we’re excited to present some new, innovative solutions that help transit agencies provide a higher level of safety around the perimeter of their buses.

Roughly 42 pedestrians and cyclists are killed every year in transit-bus related accidents, according to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) 2010-2014.

Traffic congestion and the increase in the number of drivers contribute to the number of those injured and killed each year. Our absorption with smart phones plays the other key role in driving up the number of pedestrian strikes.

In a study published recently in the Transportation Research Record, more than 1/3 of pedestrians in a field study were distracted by their phones, texting, reading, talking and listening. This study also made note that those pedestrians who were distracted by their phones also showed more unstable movements and disruptions as they walked, making perimeter transit bus safety solutions imperative.

Safety Perimeter Transit solutions by Safe Fleet
At this year’s CUTA Annual Conference and Transit Show, we are showcasing transit bus perimeter safety solutions, that we feel could help mitigate the distraction and, we hope, drive down the number of those injured and killed in bus strikes every year. Both solutions take an innovative approach to solving the problem and employ methods which seek to actively notify pedestrians and passengers who are identified as potentially at risk.

Otherwise, let’s continue this conversation at the show in booth 1515 at the CUTA Annual Conference and Transit Show this November.

Together, we can create a Safer Transit Bus Perimeter.
